At the intersection of art and functionality, we have come together to redefine furniture design. Our project blends the principles of sculpture with the practicality of everyday furniture, creating pieces that are both artistic and highly functional.

With years of experience working with wood, epoxy resin, metal and other materials, we have mastered their properties and possibilities. Rather than following established boundaries, we challenge them - exploring new forms, pushing materials beyond expectation, and shaping designs that engage all the senses.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that products should not only be visually striking but also possess distinctive qualities that enhance their usability. We strive to craft designs that are not just complete in form but also enirely unique.

To achieve this uniqueness, we work extensively with epoxy resin, wood , metal and concrete, materials that offer endless possibilities for combining colors, textures, and structures. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted - our combined expertise in sculpture, woodworking, and resin artistry ensures the highest level of craftsmanship and quality.

We intuitively categorize our designs based on the materials used, allowing each piece to emerge naturally from the unique characteristics of its components. We also group them by their structural logic - how elements interact and connect. Our aesthetic blends modern minimalism, brutalism, and futurism, infused with a sense of movement and dynamism.

A key principle in our work is the final texture. We believe that different materials, such as wood, epoxy resin, metal, concrete can have same perfect finish as a final product. We want to create more than just a furniture, we seek creating a sculpture with function.

Above all, our aim is to break stereotypes. We want to redefine how furniture is perceived - not just as an object of use, but as an experience that speaks to touch, sight, and emotion. Each piece we create is a statement - an exploration of form, material, and craftsmanship, designed to bring a bold, artistic presence into everyday spaces.

eng. Kaloyan Vasilev

Designer

Kaloyan Vasilev’s journey into the world of design began at an early age, driven by a deep passion for art, craftsmanship, and high-end furniture. He studied in Vienna, Austria, before earning his engineering degree from Forestry University in Sofia, Bulgaria. His dedication to innovative design led him to establish KV Design Ltd, a company that showcases his unique approach to furniture and material experimentation. The studio works across two different directions, the first focuses on interior projects, where Kaloyan and his team create high - end furniture using wood and epoxy resin. The second is the Haute Charpenterie line - a conceptual series of work dedicated to collectible sculptural furniture.

In 2024, Kaloyan’s talent was recognised when he won “Furniture of the Year” in Bulgaria in the “Chairs and Tables” category with his groundbreaking creation - the Smart Desk. This piece reimagines the traditional workspace by seamlessly blending technical innovation with modern aesthetics, offering both comfort and a productive atmosphere. The Smart Desk exemplifies his philosophy: merging functionality with contemporary design to create an entirely new experience.

Over the past few years, Kaloyan’s expertise, experience, and reputation have grown exponentially. Naturally, his artistic vision has evolved as well. Now, he is taking the next step in his creative journey - designing sculptural furniture that transcends traditional boundaries. His latest work explores the intersection of art and functionality, redefining furniture as more than just an object of use, but as a statement of form, emotion, and innovation.

With each creation, Kaloyan continues to challenge conventions, pushing materials and design to their full potential. His work is not just about furniture - it’s about transforming spaces and perceptions.

That same year marked the studio’s first step into collectible design. A collection of seven pieces was presented in the Brera Design District during Milan Design Week, in collaboration with a fellow designer. This moment became a turning point, reinforcing a clear direction toward collectible furniture.

In 2025, the studio introduced its first dedicated line - Haute Charpenterie. Their first products were presented at the historic Museo Bagatti Valsecchi during Milan Design Week. Among the exhibited works, the Five Dimensions Bench attracted significant international attention and, in 2026, was awarded Furniture of the Year in Bulgaria.

In 2026, after an intensive period of development, the team established the first Bulgarian pavilion at Fuorisalone during Milan Design Week. The exhibition, organized by Kaloyan Vasilev and curated by him and Haute Charpenterie line, brought together Bulgarian and international artists and designers. Presented under the name DOPIR at Casa Bagatti Valsecchi, the project generated strong international interest and marked a significant milestone for contemporary Bulgarian design.
